Adorn’s Guide to the Best Thrift & Antique Shops in Columbia and Lexington

Adorn’s Guide to the Best Thrift & Antique Shops in Columbia and Lexington

There’s nothing quite like the thrill of walking into a store full of vintage finds and wondering what treasures you’ll uncover. The copper pots, the art that’s had another life, the solid brass trinkets with stories to tell, it all reminds us why we love the hunt.

At Adorn Interiors, we spend a lot of time exploring our favorite antique malls and thrift stores in the Midlands of South Carolina. These are the places that inspire us, where we find one-of-a-kind pieces that make every home feel layered and personal.

Here are a few of our tried-and-true favorites.

Ivy House Antique Mall

📍 4211 Augusta Rd, Lexington, SC 29073

This is our go-to. Ivy House has rows of booths filled with finds from people who love vintage as much as we do. You’ll find everything from used books and copper pots to vintage art prints, brass trinkets, lamps, and handmade goods. Some booths even have brand new, never-opened items. It’s clean, friendly, and full of surprises. We always leave with something special.

Three Rivers Antiques

📍 615 Meeting St, West Columbia, SC 29169

Three Rivers Antiques is the perfect balance of variety and manageability. It’s well-lit, air-conditioned, and filled with affordable vintage pieces that make you feel like you’ve hit the jackpot. It’s not so big that it’s overwhelming, but it’s large enough that you’ll want to take your time and see everything.

Old Mill Antique Mall

📍 310 State St A, West Columbia, SC 29169

Old Mill Antique Mall is huge, with one booth leading into the next and more rooms tucked around every corner. It’s the kind of place you can spend an entire afternoon in. You’ll find everything from furniture and vintage fur coats to porcelain teacups, chinoiserie vases, art, and solid brass statues. There’s truly something for everyone and we cannot recommend it enough.

The Warehouse

📍 312 State St, West Columbia, SC 29169

Right next door to The Old Mill Antique Mall is The Warehouse, one of our favorite places to source larger statement pieces. We come here for beautiful furniture, light fixtures, salvaged architectural items, and local art. It’s the perfect stop after Old Mill when you’re already in treasure-hunting mode.

763 Meeting Street Antique Mall

📍 763 Meeting St, West Columbia, SC 29169

Just down the road from Three Rivers, this 11,000-square-foot store is packed with an eclectic mix of furniture, jewelry, books, and china. It’s fun, easy to wander, and full of character. You never know what you’ll find, which makes it one of our favorite stops.

The Red Lion Antiques & Interiors

📍 1929 Hampton St, Columbia, SC 29201

We love this place. The Red Lion always has such beautiful and well-kept furniture, rugs, artwork, used books, glassware, and so much more. The pieces here feel carefully chosen and of great quality. It’s one of those shops that feels elevated, but still approachable and affordable.

Ed’s Editions

📍 356 Meeting St, West Columbia, SC 29169

We always stop by Ed’s when we’re styling shelves. The selection of used books is incredible, whether our clients are into travel, sports, history, or cooking. The staff are always friendly and quick to help us find exactly what we’re looking for.

Refind Thrift Store

📍 718 S Edisto Ave, Columbia, SC 29205

Refind Thrift Store is full of charm. From ornate mirrors and chinoiserie ceramics to baskets, furniture, and records, everything here feels unique and full of personality. One of our favorite finds ever, a large marble bowl that became a coffee table centerpiece for one of our clients, came from here.

Honorable Mention for Antiques in Charlotte: The Sleepy Poet

📍 6424 South Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28217

If you’re up for a day trip, The Sleepy Poet in Charlotte is absolutely worth the drive, so we couldn't leave it off this list. This antique mall is massive, but it’s well-organized, which makes browsing a breeze. The dealers’ booths are filled with vintage, antique, and collectible pieces. We spent hours there and ended up filling two carts full of finds for a client’s home, including vintage art, antique French pottery, a ceramic statue, an old clock, brass candlesticks, and a beautiful antique vase. It’s one of those places where you’ll lose track of time in the best way.

Why We Love Thrifting

For us, thrifting isn’t just about finding a good deal. It’s about bringing history, craftsmanship, and character into a space. The right vintage piece can make a room feel personal and lived-in in a way that new items just can’t. Whether it’s a piece of art, a chair with the perfect patina, or a stack of worn books, these finds add a layer of authenticity that makes a house feel like home.

So grab a coffee, clear your afternoon, and start exploring. You never know what treasures you’ll find.
